Upper Bucks Schutzhund Club is a full member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America . UBSC is dedicated to the promotion of the sport of Schutzhund and working dogs. We encourage the training of dogs towards Schutzhund titles while adhering to the rules and regulations of Schutzhund USA .

Schutzhund in German means protection dog. Schutzhund is a fast-growing competitive sport. It was originally a test to determine which dogs were worthy of breeding. Schutzhund gives us the ability to test our dogs to determine if the temperament is correct and to view their working ability. It is also a highly competitive sport that is maintained by the efforts of teamwork between the handler and his/her dog. Schutzhund is designed for the dogs with working ability. However, it is not restricted to any particular group or breed of dog.

Schutzhund is a three-phase sport that involves tracking, obedience, and protection. Each phase requires extensive training and significant commitment. This is not a sport/hobby for all dogs and handlers. It takes a special dog and handler, along with a lot of hard work and dedication, to be a successful team.
